How To Install Lollypop 0.9.1 Audio Player On Ubuntu And Derivatives

How to install Lollypop 0.9.1 Audio Player on Ubuntu 14.01/14.04 and Derivatives. You can also install Lollypop 0.9.1 Audio Player on Fedora, OpenSUSE, Arch Linux and Derivatives.

Lollypop is a Rhythmbox alternative. It is an open-source audio player developed in GTK+3. It supports various popular audio formats, including mp3, mp4, ogg and flac. It can also be used to visualize the songs via album, artist or genre. The music player has two UI – White and Black.

This tutorial explains how to install Lollypop 0.9.1 on Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Fedora, OpenSUSE, Arch Linux and Derivatives.

Install Lollypop 0.9.1 Audio Player on Ubuntu 14.10, Ubuntu 14.04 and Derivatives

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gnumdk/gnuppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install lollypop

If you want to disable the overlay scrollbars (for Unity only), run the following command:

gsettings set com.canonical.desktop.interface scrollbar-mode normal

To uninstall or remove the Lollypop audio player, run the following command in Terminal:

sudo apt-get remove lollypop

Install Lollypop 0.9.1 Audio Player on OpenSUSE 13.2 and Derivatives


sudo wget http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/gnumdk31/openSUSE_13.2/home:gnumdk31.repo -O /etc/zypp/repos.d/home:gnumdk31.repo
sudo zypper refresh
sudo zypper install lollypop

To uninstall or remove the Lollypop audio player, run the following command in Terminal:

sudo zypper remove lollypop

Install Lollypop 0.9.1 Audio Player on Fedora 20 and Derivative


sudo yum install yum-plugin-copr
sudo yum copr enable gnumdk/lollypop
sudo yum install lollypop

To uninstall or remove the Lollypop audio player, run the following command in Terminal:

$ sudo yum remove lollypop

Install Lollypop 0.9.1 Audio Player on Arch Linux and Derivatives


sudo yaourt lollypop

To uninstall or remove the Lollypop audio player, run the following command in Terminal:

sudo yaourt -Rsn lollypop
