FSearch Beta 2 Released – Install FSearch File Finding Tool

FSearch Beta 2 is released with wildcard characters support in search and utf8 support. It also brings an option to exclude files with exact matches. FSearch is a fast file search utility for GNU/Linux operating systems, inspired by Everything Search Engine. It’s written in C and based on GTK+3.

  • Include and exclude specific folders to be indexed

Requirements

  • GTK+ 3.12 or newer
  • GLib 2.44
  • PCRE (libpcre)

Install FSearch

FSearch file utility can be installed on Ubuntu 17.04, Ubuntu 16.10, Ubuntu 16.04, Ubuntu 15.04, Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 14.10 and Ubuntu 15.10 Systems. Run the following commands in terminal to install FSearch utility using PPA:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:christian-boxdoerfer/fsearch-daily
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install fsearch-trunk

Once installed, open the FSearch utility from Ubuntu Dash.
