How To Install gFTP 2.0.19 On Ubuntu 14.10, Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 12.04

Learn how to install gFTP 2.0.19 on Ubuntu 14.10, Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 12.04 and Linux Mint. gFTP is an open-source FTP client for Linux Ubuntu systems.

The gFTP’s latest version, gFTP 2.0.19 comes with many new features. The gFTP is written in C and has a text + GTK+ 1.2/2.x user interface. The gFTP supports the FTP, FTPS, HTTP, HTTPS, SSH and FSP protocols and FTP and HTTP proxy server support. It supports FXP file transfers and allows you to quickly connect to remote sites.

Install gFTP 2.0.19 On Ubuntu Systems

Run the following commands in Terminal to install gFTP 2.0.19 on Ubuntu Systems. The gFTP can be installed on Ubuntu 14.10, Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 12.04, Linux Mint and Ubuntu Derivatives.


sudo add-apt-repository ppa:klaus-vormweg/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gftp

To uninstall and remove the gFTP, run the command given below:

sudo apt-get remove gftp

The gFTP is distributed under the GNU Public License Agreement.
