The latest release of Audacious music player (3.6) brings the new Qt-based user interface. The latest Qt 5 UI can be installed alongside the existing GTK+ and Winamp Classic interfaces.
Install Audacious 3.6 in Ubuntu 14.10
The Audacious 3.6 music player can be installed via the Webupd8 PPA. Open Terminal and run the following commands to install Audacious PPA on Ubuntu.
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:nilarimogard/webupd8
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install audacious audacious-plugins
Install Audacious 3.6 in Ubuntu 14.04
To install Audacious 3.6 in Ubuntu 14.04 and Linux Mint 17.1 systems, run the following command:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntuhandbook1/apps
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install audacious audacious-plugins
Uninstall Audacious Ubuntu 14.10/14.04/Linux Mint
To uninstall and remove the Audacious music player from Ubuntu and Linux Mint systems, run the following command:
sudo apt-get remove audacious audacious-plugins
