How to install and use Square icons on Ubuntu 14.10/14.04 Systems. There are two variants of Square icons, dark and light.
There are two variants of Square icons, dark and light. Based on your preference, you can choose either of the two. All icons are in svg format and compatable for latest Gnome versions. It also contains small icons for small Unity launcher & other desktop environments.
Open Terminal and run the following commands to install Square icons in Ubuntu 15.04/14.10/14.04/12.04 and Linux Mint 17.1/17/13 Systems:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:noobslab/icons2
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install square-icons
Open Terminal and run the following commands to install Square icons in any Debian/Ubuntu/Linux Mint Systems:
sudo add-apt-repository "deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/noobslab/icons2/ubuntu precise main"
sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys F59EAE4D
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install square-icons
You can download the icon pack from the link below. The files are stored in Google Drive, so don’t be suspicious if you don’t see a standard website like SourceForge.

To use the icon theme, extract the downloaded files in ~/.icons directory. You can also use a tool (Ubuntu Tweak) to change the icon theme. Please note that extract the files to: ///usr/share/icons (for all users) or extract files to ///home/.icons (for single user).
