Install Java 9 Build 59 on Ubuntu and Debian Systems. How to upgrade and install Oracle Java 9 (Build 59) on Ubuntu 15.04, Ubuntu 14.10, Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 12.04, Linux Mint 17.1, Linux Mint 17, Linux Mint 13, and Debian.

Install Java 9 Build 59 on Ubuntu

Run the following commands in Terminal to install Java 9 on Ubuntu Systems:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/java
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install oracle-java9-installer oracle-java9-set-default

Install Java 9 Build 59 on Debian

Run the following commands in Terminal to install Java 9 on Debian systems:

sudo sh -c 'echo "deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/webupd8team/java/ubuntu trusty main" >> /etc/apt/sources.list'
sudo apt-key adv --keyserver hkp://keyserver.ubuntu.com:80 --recv-keys EEA14886
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install oracle-java9-installer oracle-java9-set-default

You can also use the same instructions to install Java 9 (build 59) on Ubuntu and Debian derivative systems.
