The LibreOffice 4.4.3 is the third bugfix release from the 4.4 branch of LibreOffice which contains new features and program enhancements. As such, the version is stable and is suitable for all users. This version may contain a few annoying bugs which will be fixed in the next bugfix versions to come.
Before install LibreOffice 4.4.3, you must remove the old LibreOffice version. Open terminal and run the following command to uninstall and remove old OpenOffice version::
On Debian/Ubuntu Based Systems
sudo apt-get remove openoffice* libreoffice*
Once removed, you can now install the new version of LibreOffice 4.4.3. Follow the steps given below to install LibreOffice 4.4.3 on Debian/Ubuntu/Linux Mint Systems:
On 32-bit Systems
wget http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/stable/4.4.3/deb/x86/LibreOffice_4.4.3_Linux_x86_deb.tar.gz
tar -xvf LibreOffice_4.4.3_Linux_x86_deb.tar.gz
cd /tump/LibreOffice_4.4.3.2_Linux_x86_deb/DEBS/
sudo sudo dpkg -i *.deb
On 64-bit Systems
wget http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/stable/4.4.3/deb/x86_64/LibreOffice_4.4.3_Linux_x86-64_deb.tar.gz
tar -xvf LibreOffice_4.4.3_Linux_x86-64_deb.tar.gz
cd /tump/LibreOffice_4.4.3.2_Linux_x86-64_deb/DEBS/
sudo sudo dpkg -i *.deb
Once the installation process completes you will have LibreOffice icons in your systems.
You can also install LibreOffice in your own language, simply select the preferred language pack for installation.
