Install LightZone 4.1 on Ubuntu 15.04, Ubuntu 14.04 and Derivatives. LightZone is a digital darkroom program for Ubuntu and Linux Mint. LightZone image editing program is similar to DarkTable or Adobe Lightroom. It supports popular image formats, RAW included.
The latest version LightZone 4.1 brings the following new features:
User Interface
- You can now open an image via command line, OS context menu, or drag & drop on LightZone shortcut icon.
- On Mac OS X, full-screen mode is now supported on 10.7 (Lion) or newer.
- On Mac OS X, HiDPI retina mode is now supported.
Photo Browser
- You can now select multiple thumbnails with Ctrl-Shift-Click.
Photo Editor
- You can now zoom in/out with Ctrl-wheel, and move the zoomed image with Ctrl-drag.
- In Crop/Rotate mode, you can now rotate the image with mouse wheel, and change the rotation grid origin with a click.
- “Info” tab is now also available in Editor mode.
- AdvancedNoiseReduction is updated to V4.
- Upresolution is now possible when converting an edited image.
Install LightZone 4.1 on Ubuntu
LightZone can be installed via PPA. Open Terminal and run the following commands to add the PPA and install the Lighezone:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:otto-kesselgulasch/lightzone
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install lightzone
To uninstall and remove lightzone from Ubuntu Systems, run the following command:
sudo apt-get remove lightzone
