How to Install SysMonitor Indicator in Ubuntu 15.04, Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 14.10 and Linux Mint. The SysMonitor Indicator shows memory and cpu usage. It is an Ubuntu application indicator to show various system parameters such as CPU, memory, swap, filesystem and network usage. It also displays the various temperature sensors in the Panel bar.
It works with gnome-panel and Unity and also offers the possibility to run your own command and display its output.

SysMonitor Indicator is an useful Ubuntu AppIndicator that displays the CPU, memory, swap, filesystem and network usage. Here’s how to install it on Ubuntu system:
Install Sysmonitor Indicator in Ubuntu
The SysMonitor Indicator can be installed in Ubuntu 15.04, Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 14.10 and Linux Mint Systems. Run the following commands in Terminal to install Sysmonitor Indicator vai PPA in Ubuntu systems:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:fossfreedom/indicator-sysmonitor
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install indicator-sysmonitor
Once installed, search in the dash for “indicator-sysmonitor” to open and run the indicator.
For an older Ubuntu version you can also download the Sysmonitor Indicator deb file and install it manually.
Please note that indicator doesn’t start automatically on system login. To enable this option, open preferences, on the General tab, enable “Run on startup”.
