Install PlayOnLinux Ubuntu 15.10, Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 15.05 and Ubuntu 14.10. PlayOnLinux, frontend for Wine lets run Windows games and sofwtares on Linux Ubuntu Systems.
PlayOnLinux 4.2.10 is the latest version of PlayOnLinux Wine frontend. PlayOnLinux 4.2.10 has been released with the following fixes:
- Wine 1.8 staging is now the default wine version on OSX. The build process has been improved thanks to wine-staging team so that the compiler supports ms_hook_prologue, allowing function hotpatching. This should improve the compatibility of some applications like Steam.
- Some wine staging instructions have been added so that they are fully supported by the scripts.
- The wineprefix tab in the configuration panel has been improved.
Install PlayOnLinux 4.2.10 on Ubuntu
PlayOnLinux 4.2.10 can be installed on Linux Ubuntu Systems, via Noobslab PPA. Run the following commands in Terminal to install PlayOnLinux 4.2.6 on Ubuntu 15.10, Ubuntu 15.04, Ubuntu 14.10, Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 12.04, Linux Mint and Ubuntu Derivatives:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:noobslab/apps
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install playonlinux
If you want to uninstall and remove PlayOnLinux from Ubuntu Systems, run the following command:
$ sudo apt-get remove playonlinux
