How To Install Diodon Clipboard Manager on Ubuntu 15.10 & Ubuntu 14.04

Diodon clipboard manager for the Gnome/Unity Desktop. Install Diodon clipboard manager on Ubuntu 15.10, Ubuntu 15.04, Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 14.10 and Linux Mint Systems. Diodon clipboard manager is a simple, yet powerful application for GNOME and Unity Desktop. The app comes with application indicator support.

The Diodon clipboard manager features a panel indicator and Unity Scope that allows searching history. Not only this, it also supports clipboard sync feature and a zeitgeist integration. Just like any other clipboard manager, the Diodon supports images and plugins.

Diodon 1.40 is the latest version of the Diodon clipboard manager, It has been released with the following bug-fixes:

  • Cannot log out if Diodon is running
  • shortcuts with symbols do not work
  • Shortcut working only in a special typing order
  • clipboard menu doesn’t get updated after clearing history
  • Repeating the keyboard shortccut does not scroll down in the history
  • Gnome session not correctly recognized for keybinding
  • Do not run integration tests during build
  • Grab history key functionality to configure hot key
  • Allow V as History hotkey
  • Cannot paste into gnome-terminal
  • Ignore whitespaces clipboard item

Run the following commands in Terminal to install Diodon clipboard manager on Ubuntu 15.10, Ubuntu 15.04, Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 14.10 and Linux Mint Systems:

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:diodon-team/stable
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install diodon

And for all Unity users there is also a scope

sudo apt-get install unity-scope-diodon

Once installed, open the Diodon clipboard manager from Ubuntu Dash or Menu.

sudo apt-get remove diodon
sudo apt-get remove unity-scope-diodon
