Install Lightworks video editor on Ubuntu Linux. Lightworks version 14.0.0 for Linux Ubuntu is now available to download and install. Lightworks is a professional Non-Linear Editing (NLE) video editing software supporting resolutions up to 4K as well as video in SD and HD formats. Lightworks also includes Vimeo export (1080p in Free, UHD 4K in Pro).
Lightworks version 14.0.0, the latest version of Lightworks NLE brings a new project browser layout with project search and users can now choose between Fixed and Flexible (Historic Lightworks) layouts on the project browser. Lightworks 14 has added system-settings menu “Fullscreen preview monitor” for when there are multiple monitors attached (with choices 1,2,3,etc). It has also increased buffer size when reading uncompressed audio and has added Shark hint for Proxy generation.
Linux Specific Fixes and Features include back support for earlier versions of Ubuntu (14.04), fixed Vectorscope and Waveform showing black only on the VFX tab, fixed crash on startup on Fedora 25 (Please see Limitations and Known Issues) and fixed high memory usage with multiple opened files.

- Added AVID DNxHD .MOV encoding to the import, render and export panels (Separate AVID DNxHD license required)
- Added new Effects panel combining Adding, Settings, Graphs and Routing
- Added ability to right click an empty area of the timeline and close the gap
- Added ability to Play, Scrub and Mark clips in List view bins
- Added improved RED R3D playback to utilise OpenCL
- Added ability to automatically sync chunked Panasonic P2 files on import
- Added keybinds for adding a video track and/or audio track

Download the latest Lightworks video editor package from the official source [link below] Linux Ubuntu users can download DEB or download RPM, for Lightworks for Linux 64-bit or Latest Beta 14.0 revision 90926

Once downloaded, extract and install it manually. Also run the following commands to install all the missing dependencies, if any:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get -f install
Once downloaded, open Lightworks from Ubuntu Dash or Terminal.
