Install Vimix Material Design theme on Ubuntu Systems. Vimix is a flat Material Design theme for GTK 3, GTK 2 and Gnome-Shell which supports GTK 3 and GTK 2 based desktop environments like Gnome, Unity, Budgie, Pantheon, XFCE, Mate, etc. This theme is based on Flat-Plat gtk theme of nana-4.
The Flat-Plat GTK theme is a Material Design-like theme for GNOME/GTK+ based desktop environments. It brings the following features:
- Supports ripple effect animations (only GTK3 apps).
- Supports both light and dark variants.
- Supports dark or light titlebar versions.
- Supports compact version for low resolution.
- Supports Dash to Dock extension’s theming.
- Supports Workspaces to Dock extension’s theming.
- Supports Chrome/Chromium theme and scrollbars extensions.
- Appears more beautifully when you use a font family including Medium and Light weights.
Requirements
GTK2 engines requirment
GTK2 engine Murrine 0.98.1.1 or later.
GTK2 pixbuf engine or the gtk(2)-engines package.
To install GTK2 engine on Ubuntu and Debian Systems, run the following command:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gtk2-engines-murrine gtk2-engines-pixbuf
Install
Installation package can be downloaded from here: https://github.com/vinceliuice/vimix-gtk-themes/releases
You can also install the Vimix via script. Open the terminal at current directory and run
./Vimix-installer.sh
Or double-click to open that script files and select “run at the terminal” at nautilus.
