Tomahawk Version 0.9.0 has resolved various playback issues by switching to a new audio engine. It also brings fixed collection sorting. The previous version of Tomahawk player was released with:

Install Tomahawk in Ubuntu
Tomahawk music player can be installed on Ubuntu 15.10, Ubuntu 15.04, Ubuntu 14.04 and Ubuntu Derivatives. Run the following commands in Terminal to add the PPA:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:tomahawk/ppa sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install tomahawk
Once installed, you can open Tomahawk from Ubuntu Dash or via Terminal.
Uninstall & Remove Tomahawk
To un-install and remove Tomahawk form Ubuntu system, run the following commands in the Terminal.
sudo apt-get remove tomahawk
sudo add-apt-repository -r ppa:tomahawk/ppa
