Install XnConvert Batch Image Converter & Resizer On Ubuntu Systems

How to batch convert and resize multiple images on Linux Ubuntu. Install XnConvert 1.72 on Ubuntu 15.10, Ubuntu 15.04, Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 14.10 and Linux Mint Systems. XnConvert is a cross-platform batch image-converter and resizer with a powerful and ease of use experience.

XnConvert allows to combine over 80 actions. Compatible with 500 formats. All common picture and graphics formats are supported (i.e. JPG, PNG, TIFF, GIF, Camera RAW, JPEG2000, WebP, OpenEXR) as well as supporting over 500 other image formats. Also available within the batch operations include rotating, adding of watermarks, adding of text along with many image-adjustment features such as brightness, shadows and more.

It uses the batch processing module of XnViewMP. It offers powerful features in an easy to use interface providing convenient drag & drop functionality. XnConvert is Multilingual, it includes more than 20 different translations.

Extensive Toolset

Combine and choose between more than 80 different operations including:

  • Metadata Editing.
  • Transforms: Rotate, Crop, Resize, …
  • Adjustments: Brightness, Contrast, Saturation, …
  • Filters: Blur, Emboss, Sharpen, …
  • Effects: Masking, Watermark, Vignetting, …

and seamlessly export to NConvert for a command line usage. NConvert is a powerful command line multi-platform batch image processor with more than 80 commands. NConvert is compatible with more than 500 formats (including Multipage and animated still formats APNG, TIFF, GIF, ICO, etc..) and Export to about 70 different file formats.

Install XnConvert on Ubuntu

Run the following commands in Terminal to install XnConvert on Ubuntu Systems:

On 32 Bit Ubuntu Systems


wget http://download.xnview.com/XnConvert-linux.deb
sudo dpkg -i XnConvert-linux.deb

On 32 Bit Ubuntu Systems

For Ubuntu 64 bit :

wget http://download.xnview.com/XnConvert-linux-x64.deb
sudo dpkg -i XnConvert-linux-x64.deb

If you get an error saying “missing dependencies”, run the following command:

sudo apt-get install -f

Once insatlled, open the XnConvert software from Ubuntu Dash or Menu.
