Install Plank Dock in Ubuntu via PPA. Learn how to install and use Plank launcher dock in Ubuntu and Mint Systems. The Plank Dock tool gives you the Mac OS X-style Dock application launcher on Ubuntu desktop. Plank is an open-source and the simplest dock. The goal is to provide just what a dock needs and absolutely nothing more. It is, however, a library which can be extended to create other dock programs with more advanced features.
Install Plank Dock
Run the following commands to download and install Plank on Ubuntu 16.10, Ubuntu 16.04, Ubuntu 15.10, Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 15.04, Ubuntu 14.10 and Ubuntu Derivatives:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:docky-core/stable
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install plank
Once installed, open the Plank Dock via Ubuntu Dash or Menu.
If you wish to uninstall and remove the Plank Dock from Ubuntu Systems, run the command:
sudo apt-get remove plank
