Power Commands app developed by Atareao team enables the Linux Ubuntu users to add “Shutdown” and “Restart” options. The app lets you easily turn off (shutdown), restart (reboot), suspend, hibernate and log out via the Unity Desktop (Ubuntu Dash).
Power Commands 2.0 is the latest version available and can be installed on Ubuntu 15.10, Ubuntu 15.04, Ubuntu 14.04 and Ubuntu 14.10. Best of all, POwer Commands 2.0 has been created to work with systemd (Ubuntu 15.04).
Install Power Commands on Ubuntu
Power Commands can be installed on Ubuntu systems via the Atareao PPA. Open Terminal and run the following commands to install:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:atareao/atareao
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install power-commands
If you aren’t happy and wish to uninstall and remove the Power Commands, run the command given below:
$ sudo apt-get remove power-commands
