How To Install CherryTree Text Editor 0.35.6 On Ubuntu 14.10, Ubuntu 14.04, Debian & Derivatives

How to install CherryTree Text Editor on Ubuntu 14.04, Debian & other Ubuntu Derivatives. CherryTree is a text editor and a hierarchical note taking application featuring rich text and syntax highlighting features.

It comes with many exciting features such as syntax highlighting, spell check, export to html, password protection, rich text editing, save as pdf file, export to html and others.

Install CherryTree 0.35.6 On Ubuntu 14.10, Ubuntu 14.04 & Derivative Systems


Cherry-Tree-text-Editor
To install CherryTree text editor on Ubuntu and derivative systems, you can use the CherryTree 0.35.6 PPA. Open the Terminal and run the following commands to add the PPA:


sudo add-apt-repository ppa:vincent-c/cherrytree
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install cherrytree

Install CherryTree 0.35.6 On Debian & Derivative Systems

To install CherryTree 0.35.6 on Debian and derivative systems, run the following commands in the Terminal:

sudo apt-get install gdebi
wget giuspen.com/software/cherrytree_0.35.6-1_all.deb
sudo gdebi cherrytree_0.35.6-1_all.deb

If you want to un-install or remove the newly installed CherryTree from Ubuntu, Debian or another derivative system, run the following command:

sudo apt-get remove cherrytree
