By Sourabh / April 14, 2015 Category: How To, Ubuntu

Install USB Indicator (Safe Removal Application) on Ubuntu 14.10 & Ubuntu 14.04. Mount and Unmount (Remove) USB devices from the system tray.

The Ubuntu USB Applet Indicator safely removes USB drives using the GUI. It can be installed on Ubuntu, Elementary OS (Luna and Freya) and Linux Mint Systems.

You can either install it via Command Line or via .deb package. To install USB Indicator, run the following command in Terminal:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:yunnxx/gnome3
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install indicator-usb

You can also install it via the deb file. Download the deb file from here.
