The Indicator Netspeed Unity is an Ubuntu AppIndicator which displays the Internet speed, the upload and download speed on the panel. The Indicator Netspeed Unity comes with the following features:
- Four panel display modes with configurable bit rate prefix
- Displays total downloaded and uploaded data with speed for the current Internet session
- Enable/disable padding (indentation of indicator text)
- Settings menu which can beĀ used to change the general configuration and Indicator settings
Install Indicator Netspeed Unity in Ubuntu
You can install theĀ Indicator Netspeed Unity app in Ubuntu 15.10, Ubuntu 15.04, Ubuntu 14.10, Ubuntu 14.04 and Ubuntu derivatives which support App Indicators. To install the Indicator Netspeed Unity via official PPA, run the following commands:
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:fixnix/netspeed
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install indicator-netspeed-unity
Change Settings
You can change the settings of the indicator. You can set the display mode, position on the panel or use custom icons. To change the settings, install Dconf Editor (ignore if already installed):
sudo apt-get install dconf-editor
Open Dconf Editor and navigate to apps > indicators > netspeed-unity and change the settings.
