How to install Shotcut 16.03 Video Editor on Ubuntu Systems. Install Shotcut 16.03.01 (Video Editing Software) on Ubuntu 15.10, Ubuntu 15.04, Ubuntu 14.04 and Ubuntu 14.10 Systems. Shotcut is a free, open-source, cross-platform video editing software for Linux Ubuntu Systems.

Install Shotcut 16.03 on Ubuntu
Shotcut 16.03 is the latest version of the Shotcut video editing software. Shotcut 16.03 has been released with the following changes and fixes:
- Changed player tab Program to Project.
- Changed panel name Encode to Export.
- Added a From field to the Export panel to allow exporting the project, a clip loaded in the Source tab of the player, or or each playlist item as a batch of jobs.
- Added an export preset for animated GIF.
- Upgraded FFmpeg to v3.0.
- Upgraded MLT to v6.0.0.
Run the following commands in Terminal to install Shotcut 16.03 on Ubuntu 15.10, Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 15.04, Ubuntu 14.10 and Derivatives, via PPA:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:haraldhv/shotcut
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install shotcut
Once installed, open the Shotcut video editor from Ubuntu Dash or Menu.
If you wish to uninstall and remove Shotcut video editor, run the command given below:
$ sudo apt-get remove shotcut
