Install FFmpeg 3.3 In Ubuntu 17.04 Via PPA

How to install FFmpeg 3.3 in Ubuntu 17.04, Ubuntu 16.04 and other Ubuntu Derivatives via PPA in Ubuntu. FFmpeg 3.3 “Hilbert”, a new major release, is now available! Some of the highlights:

For Ubuntu 15.04 and Above

Run the following commands in Terminal to install FFmpeg 3.3 via PPA in Ubuntu:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:jonathonf/ffmpeg-3
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt upgrade

For Ubuntu 14.04

Run the following commands in Terminal to install FFmpeg 3.3 via PPA in Ubuntu 14.04:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:jonathonf/tesseract
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt upgrade
