By Sourabh / May 26, 2017 Category: How To, Ubuntu

VLC media player 2.2.6 released. Here’s how to install VLC 2.2.6 in Ubuntu 17.04, Ubuntu 16.04, Ubuntu 15.04, Ubuntu 14.04 and other Ubuntu Systems. VLC media player 2.2.6 brings security hardening for DLL hijacking environments.

VLC 2.2.6 is released with very few changes and fixes. In the Video output stream, it now can fix systematic green line on nvidia and direct3d SPU texture offsets handling. For Demuxer, it has been fixed for heap buffer overflows.

Install VLC 2.2.6

Please note to remove the earlier version of VLC 2.2.5 from your system. Run the following commands to do so:

sudo apt-get remove vlc vlc-nox
sudo apt-get autoremove
