Opera 45 released. Install Opera 45 web browser on Ubuntu 17.04 and other Ubuntu Derivatives. Opera browser comes with a free VPN in-built into the browser. Opera is the first major browser that can block ads for you without add-ons. According to tests, its built-in ad blocker makes content-rich webpages load in Opera up to 90% faster.
Opera 45 brings many new features such as exportable bookmarks, smoother videos and design improvements.
- Exportable bookmarks – Users can export all of their bookmarks. Everything from your Speed Dial, bookmarks bar and other folders are neatly listed in a single HTML file.
- Smoother background loading of news – To reduce interruptions and save some data usage from the browser, your personal news can now be refreshed at two new intervals of three or six hours.
- Longer list of closed tabs – Opera now retains up to 32 closed tabs, up from the original 10, for you to recall at the moment’s notice. This becomes a handy shortcut to your history log.
Install Opera 45 on Ubuntu
Run the following commands in Terminal to install Opera 47 on Ubuntu:
$ sudo apt-get update

$ gdebi opera-stable_45.0.2552.898_i386.deb
Install Opera using RPM
$ sudo apt-get update
