Install Evernote For Ubuntu & Install Indicator-Stickynotes On Ubuntu

By Sourabh / April 28, 2023 Category: How To, Ubuntu

How to add sticky notes to desktop in Ubuntu. Download and install Evernote alternative for Ubuntu Linux. Users can install indicator-stickynotes Ubuntu edition on their system.

Install EverSticky, evernote alternative for Ubuntu, and install indicator-stickynotes on Ubuntu. Both are evernote like software for Ubuntu Linux.

EverSticky

EverSticky is a simple application thats provides post-it notes for your Linux desktop. These notes auto-save and transparently syncronise to Evernote (when a network connection is available). This allows you to access your notes anywhere you can access Evernote.

The sticky notes display rich-text content. Although the note formatting options in EverSticky are currently limited, if you paste rich-text (such as checkboxes, tables, etc) it will display correctly.

Install EverSticky

Users can easily install EverSticky on Linux Ubuntu Systems and Ubuntu Derivatives. EverSticky is compatible with most up-to-date Linux systems. It relies primarily on Qt with Qt WebEngine and will run on any desktop environment. Packages are provided for a number of current Linux distributions.

For Ubuntu (and Ubuntu-deriviatives) simply install the deb software package. This package is far smaller in size than the Snap Store version but will not auto-update.

Run the following commands:

wget https://github.com/itsmejoeeey/eversticky/releases/download/v0.96.0/eversticky_0.96.0-1_amd64.deb
sudo apt install ./eversticky_0.96.0-1_amd64.deb

Install indicator-stickynotes on Ubuntu

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:umang/indicator-stickynotes
sudo apt update
sudo apt install indicator-stickynotes

Once installed, you don’t need to restart the system. Simply open the application and start using.
