Lightworks version 12.5 brings various new features.Two of the most prominent features are:
H.264/MP4 export format up to 4K (Lightworks Pro Only) : Lightworks 12.5.0 brings the export format options for Lightworks Pro customers to include various 4K export options. This new export option has been added to bolster the Lightworks Pro export format list. Different from the YouTube target format, this new H.264/MP4 export option allows users to export to DCI 4K, QFHD and QHD formats along with SD and HD formats.
Boris FX and Boris Graffiti enabled : In addition to Lightworks Pro’s native tools, version 12.5, together with Boris FX, for special visual effects.
Other features are:

Please Note: It is strongly recommended for users to install the proprietary graphics card drivers before installing Lightworks. Else, Lightworks may not run correctly (images of the incorrect size during playback and possible performance problems).
Installing Nvidia/ATI drivers
Below are guidelines for installing the proprietary graphics drivers for your system. These may be different depending on your distro and EditShare accept no responsibility for any problems caused.
Mint users
- Click Menu > Administration > Driver Manager
- Enable the Nvidia/ATI driver for your Graphics Card
- Restart the system
Ubuntu 13.10 (and above) users
- Open System Settings
- Click Software and Updates
- Click the Additional Drivers tab
- Select the Nvidia binary driver
- Click Apply changes
- Restart your system
