Install Budgie Desktop Environment on Linux Ubuntu, via PPA. Terminal commands (how to) install the latest Budgie Desktop on Ubuntu 16.04, Ubuntu 15.04, Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 15.10 and Ubuntu 14.10 Systems.
Run the following commands in Terminal to install Budgie Desktop Environment, via PPA:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:fossfreedom/budgie-desktop
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install budgie-desktop
Once installed, log out and log in with Budgie session. Click on the Ubuntu Icon and select Budgie. Enter the regular username and password to login.
If you aren’t happy and wish to uninstall and remove the Budgie Desktop Environment, use Synaptic or run below command in terminal. Simply remove the Budgie PPA via Software & Updates > Other Software tab.
sudo apt-get remove budgie-desktop
Please update the system after removing the PPA. Run the command:
sudo apt-get update
