How to install XnView on Ubuntu 16.04. XnView Image Viewer & Editor for Linux Ubuntu Systems is an awesome software for reading, viewing, and processing all your images.
XnView lets you read about 500 formats (including Multipage and animated still formats APNG, TIFF, GIF, ICO,etc..). Some other notable features of XnView are metadata support and editing (IPTC), JPEG lossless transforms, duplicate file finder, batch processing and batch rename function.

Install xnViewMP on Ubuntu
Open Terminal and run the following command to install xnViewMP on Ubuntu 16.04, Ubuntu 15.04, Ubuntu 14.04 and Derivarives:
sudo sh -c 'echo "deb http://archive.getdeb.net/ubuntu trusty-getdeb apps" >> /etc/apt/sources.list'
wget -q -O- http://archive.getdeb.net/getdeb-archive.key | sudo apt-key add -
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install xnviewmp
Ubuntu users can also install xnViewMP from DEB packages. To do so, run the command given below:
For 32 Bit Ubuntu
sudo apt-get install gdebi
wget http://download.xnview.com/XnViewMP-linux.deb
sudo gdebi XnViewMP-linux.deb
For 64 Bit Ubuntu
sudo apt-get install gdebi
wget http://download.xnview.com/XnViewMP-linux-x64.deb
sudo gdebi XnViewMP-linux-x64.deb
Once installed, open the XnView from Ubuntu Dash or Terminal.
