Install Pinta 1.6 Drawing/Image Editing Software in Ubuntu 14.04/14.10 or Linux Mint

How to Install Pinta 1.6, MS-Paint like software on Ubuntu 14.04/14.10 or Linux Mint. Pinta is a cross-platform image editing and drawing program based on Paint.NET for Linux Ubuntu.

The latest version, Pinta 1.6 brings a completely redesigned UI, image dialog box and editing tools. It also resolves over 50 bug fixes and other improvements.

The software is simple and easy to use. It is an alternative to MS-Paint (Windows) and GIMP (Linux). Just like others, it features drawing tools, editing tools, layers function and history. It also brings over 35 image editing effects.

Install Pinta 1.6 in Ubuntu or Linux Mint

To install Pinta 1.6 in Ubuntu 14.04 or 14.10 / Linux Mint 17 or 17.1 systems, run the following commands:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:pinta-maintainers/pinta-stable
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install pinta
