Install and upgrade to Fotoxx 15.06 on Ubuntu 15.04, Ubuntu 14.04 and Derivatives. Fotoxx is an open source image editor & viewer for Linux Ubuntu Systems. It can be used to edit images/photos and manage a large collection.
Fotoxx 15.06 includes thumbnail image browser and navigator, RAW file import, a comprehensive set of edit functions working in deep color, fast full-image visual feedback, multiple undo/redo, select/copy/paste, batch transforms, HDR and panorama composites, metadata edit and fast search and display.
The following are the most significant changes released with Fotoxx 15.06:
- New: HSL Color: change the color of selected image areas using an HSL color chooser. Blend with original image to preserve existing variation.
- Threshold Denoise algorithm was improved.
- The Noise measurement tool was made less sensitive to RGB levels having a small gradient over the measured spot.
- Cycle Desktop (background image): Runs in the background. Add to the startup list to get a new desktop image each logon or time period.
- New: Set Desktop Image: Set the desktop background image from Fotoxx.
- New slide show transition: Image falls over to reveal the next image.
- Mashup: UI improved for adding text and lines/arrows to a layout.
- Trim/Rotate now includes an [auto] button to remove the black image margins left by composite or warp functions. The Auto-Trim menu was removed.
- KB shortcuts includes a button to report all the standard shortcuts.
- Multiple UI and help text improvements.
- Three minor bug fixes.
Install Fotoxx 15.06 on Ubuntu 15.04, Ubuntu 14.04 & Derivatives
To install Fotoxx 15.06 on Ubuntu 15.04, Ubuntu 14.04 and Derivatives, run the following command in Terminal:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:dhor/myway
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install fotoxx
To uninstall and remove Fotoxx 15.06 from Ubuntu Systems, run the following command:
sudo apt-get remove fotoxx
